Getting started with TrueFunnel

TrueFunnel tracks visitor and lead activity on a website, powered by the MagicTracker pixel.

Add a website and select TrueFunnel​

  1. Go to Administration > Websites, expand a company's row, and locate the TrueFunnel product option ("Website activity tracking"). Pricing shown includes a flat rate covering a monthly visitor allowance, then usage-based pricing per visitor beyond that.
  2. Turn on the Enable toggle for TrueFunnel. Once enabled, this toggle cannot be turned off from this screen.
  3. Select Continue to payment. TrueFunnel does not charge until the pixel captures its first visitor, so it may not appear as a line item on the payment page yet.

If the company already has active billing, a banner instead reads "You have unsaved product changes for this company. Your payment on file will be updated." — select Apply Changes to apply it directly, without a payment redirect.

Set up the MagicTracker pixel​

Go to Administration > MagicTracker Pixel Setup and select the website from the list. Setup has three steps.

Step 1: Sign the agreement​

Select Review & Sign Agreement. You'll first choose an account type — direct customer or agency acting on behalf of a client — then review and sign the MSA & Exhibit A agreement in an embedded signing session. Once signed, this step shows the signed document and the selections captured on it (account type, CA customers, EU customers, HIPAA).

Step 2: Review privacy policy guidance​

Select Generate to produce privacy policy guidance based on your Step 1 selections. This is informational guidance to help meet contractual disclosure obligations, not legal advice.

If your agreement includes EU or HIPAA selections, self-service setup stops here — contact info@websitetracker.com to complete setup.

Otherwise, after updating your site's privacy policy, check I have made adjustments to the Privacy Policy on this website to proceed.

Step 3: Install the pixel​

Choose a pixel mode:

  • First-party pixel (recommended) — served from a custom subdomain of your own site (for example, wt.yoursite.com). This requires setting up a custom domain: WebsiteTracker provisions an SSL certificate and CloudFront distribution, and you add two DNS records (an SSL validation CNAME and a CNAME pointing your subdomain to CloudFront). Provisioning status is shown live and checked automatically every 8 seconds until active.
  • Third-party pixel — a fixed installation snippet with no custom domain setup. Ad blockers and browser privacy settings are more likely to block tracking in this mode.

Once a domain is ready (or if using third-party mode), an installation snippet is shown: a <script> tag plus a <noscript><img> fallback, to be added to the <head> of every page. A copy-to-clipboard option is provided.

If someone else needs to install the pixel, use Send Setup Instructions to copy a pre-written email (or open it directly in your email client) containing the DNS records and/or installation snippet.

A Form Tracking toggle in this step controls whether form submissions are captured on tracked pages.

Confirm activation​

Once the pixel is live and has captured its first visitor, TrueFunnel activation completes and billing for usage begins. Until then, Administration > Billing shows a Pending Activation status for TrueFunnel on this company.
